Recently, phenol has been discontinued by the sole manufacturer in Canada. These obturator nerve blocks were previously done with phenol 6%. I have found some information on use of ethanol in various concentrations. Looking for someone with expertise in the area that can advise our physicians how to use this product instead...i.e volumes to use, formulation of ethanol etc...

you use 100% ethanol. Very painful, you must use local anaesthetic first to numb the nerve,
use low volumes or it will go somewhere you don't want it to.
inadequate result you can always come back and add some more
