Dear Experts, I have designed photonic crystal fiber with metal for sensing purpose. To study the effective mode index of the guided mode and as well as surface plasmon mode, I need to apply perfectly matched layer condition . can any one tell me how I can apply this condition (what is the boundary dimension and material of the PML region if my fiber is made by silica and holes are fill with air and metal) so that I get accurate result ?
Dear Rahul, you can create a thin film around your fiber(it's better if this film is not continuous (2 or 3 pieces)). When you do this one, you can define in Model-definitions PML and select the film.

Now suppose I create two silica layer of thickness 2 micrometer each then both these layer are selected for PML or only one of them (outer layer or inner layer) ?
Both the layers have same materials or different ?
