As a researcher, I suffer a lot from the dilemma of global research cooperation, and since I am mainly from a poor African country, and I have no research support and I rely in my research on the laboratory capabilities available in the workplace, I face great difficulties in front of scientific publishing, in which I waste a lot of time and effort..
While research cooperation spawns scientific papers and innovations like the village of ants and at frequent intervals because each member of the group has a small and specific task!
So far I have failed to find a serious research group that suits me and would like to share with me, what are the possible reasons??
Don't worry. If you can publish on your own, it is better because you have more freedom and get all the glory :)

Fruitful research collaborations are often unplanned, but the likelihood of their happening can be increased by strategic investments in your research environment. From my experience, the best collaborations for publications are with a single co-author, but it may depend upon your research area as I know that multiple co-authorship is more common in some hard sciences.
I would recommend finding out which countries are involved in academic development work in your country then try to find which researchers work for them. At a community level, I would also say that research groups often don't take off until they reach a critical mass. Finally, making contacts via academic social media such as RG and raising your own research profile are also good strategies.
By combining expertise and resources you can answer bigger and more complex scientific questions and expand the breadth of your research. Maximize impact. Research shows a positive correlation between collaborative papers and a high level of citations.

i think u have already achieved the target in terms of your RG score 23.12....it indicates your research work...their citations and question answer session....but i may tell you today is not an era of darkness...if you just click one button you will get what you want......
my suggestion. for you is to see first your subject...your goal or objective or concept in which you want to work...you can later consult either journals or experts by first name on that particular paper or its co-author...where you can discuss your ifs and buts with them
DISTANCE COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH CAN DEFINITELY GUIDE YOU...BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK YOURSELF ON THAT CONCEPT.....
