Hello,
As far as I know, hydroxyl functional groups on glucose are responsible for hydrophilicity of cellulose. Also, there are several chemical treatment available out there to replace or remove these functional groups in order to create a hydrophobic material.
My question is, how wax affect this property?
Does wax cover, cap or alter the hydroxyl funtional group?
I have two types of wax in mind, Beeswax and Paraffin.
your help on this would be truly appreciated.
