I created some films of graphene oxide using spin coating technique and I want to know how we can measure the thickness of these films using atomic force microscopy experimentally, or from 2D/3D image?
Actually, I received from the lab here a lot of information for the particle size, maximum and minimum height? so if there any know, pleas help
You need to study atomic force microscopy (AFM). It is really easy to measure the thin film thickness using height profile mode in AFM. You can find the your AFM manufacturer's user manual and other documents to learn their measurement techniques. Alternatively, there are plenty of resources available online. Does the information about the height can be considered as the thickness of film?
Yes you can consider height information as film thickness. You can perform a scarych test on your film. Scrape the film using a blade (1mm^2) and collect an image containing scraped and unscrped areas. Then height profile should give you the information about film thickness. This is often used to measure adsorbed protein layer thickness.
