The general public must be made aware of the mode of transmission, presenting symptoms and the measures that can be undertaken to prevent the spread of infection.
This article has tabulated all the facts of this disease and interestingly most of the required information about this disease begins with the letter C.
The „must know‟ about the virus in the tabulated manner can be displayed in public places like hospitals and malls. The inhabitants can go through the information provided and easily remember them as all the information provided goes well with the letter ‘C”
Key to understand the population and their needs, beliefs, etc. Identify the gaps in information/access, etc. Once those are determined a strategy can be formulated.
The essence of prevention is to stimulate the immune system and strengthen the body. COVID's current approach does not address this issue. Just a face mask, keep your distance, and pray you don’t get in the hospital. As well as artificial panic, which reduces the efficiency of the body’s immune system.
Well, thanks Alok Dubey Sir for this important question. As we all know that the global threat of COVID-19 continues to emerge with the new strain (i.e VUI – 202012/01), now it seems to be critical to improve the awareness and preparedness of the targeted community members, especially the less educated ones. Educational interventions are urgently needed to reach the targeted residents beyond borders and further measures are warranted. There is a need for the adoption of innovative local strategies through social media, phone calls to your near and dears to improve awareness in general population related to COVID-19 and its preventative practices in order to meet its elimination goals.
Risk of COVID infection for self and others needs to be signalled (semiotic theory) to the population (in locations where they meet e.g. market, mosque, clinics, schools) and communication (the message received) evaluated for success. Diversity of language, culture and education needs to be taken into account (Social equity, social determinants of health). Practical advice should be given for protecting vulnerable members of a family (hand washing, masks, physical distance with fewer people and visits to crowded areas). Timely and consistent messaging is needed to convey trust in the health system and encourage cooperation with public health advice.
In medicinal and preventive measures, we forget that the disease is caused by the interaction of the biological individual and the harmful factor. It is no coincidence that 50% of those infected are asymptomatic and 30% have mild symptoms. This is due to the immune system. Our measures are only about the virus, so they are not effective enough. People need to be taught how to strengthen their cellular immune system.
Firstly, communicate must come out of their false beliefs and deniyal phase.once there minds are accepting the reality of the disease.it will be more easy to spread the words of awareness among local population.
Mind reading, mapping is important to spread control of COVID19
Awareness can be increased if everyone is involved, the task of making people aware of COVID-19 prevention should not be left to the government alone. Let all stake holders be involved: that is civic leaders, the church, the education bodies, traditional leaders NGOs and the others.
One of the methods to increase awareness of people about importance of COVID-19 prevention is to be a good example of adherence to preventive measures and behaviour. Always show that you wear a mask, you wash hands, keep reasonable distance from others, avoid shaking hands and bracing during greeting others. Follow perfect life style that is visible to others. Lastly be generous in giving advice to others with out humiliation.
The best way is think to be exemplary in using PPE and keeping social distance. As well we should recommend the Government official to give attention in saving life of individual because I have seen that many officials in certain meeting by them selves do not wear even face mask then the peoples see them through Tv window and exemplifies them.
we should understand the context under which they are to respond in. for example if its hand washing or wearing of a mask, are there factors inhibiting them that are beyond their control? secondly, they should be involved in mobilization. an initiative that come from within the local population can be more effective than the top bottom kind of approach. the government should lead from behind the scenes especially if the public has less or no faith in them.
