I would like to compare scattering cross sections of different sized Ag NPs using lumerical FDTD solution software.
Can anyone give an idea for the above?
To make my question clearer, I have attached one paper below in which scattering cross section of Au NPs was discussed.
See figure 6(a) and (b) in the attached paper.
For FDTD simulation software, your can following the guidline in https://kb.lumerical.com/en/index.html?nonlinear.html. (in the nanophotonics part of applications section.)
You can try the Mie Scattering example, available on their website.
For that in Lumerical, you should use total-field scattered-field source(TFSF) that surrounds a particle. There are two analysis groups, each of which consists of a box of power monitors: one in the total field region and one in the scattered field region. These analysis groups can be used to calculate the absorption and scattering cross sections, as well as the angular distribution of scattered radiation.
