Can anyone help me to built a new structure which is not available in lumerical FDTD library?
My desired structure is attached below.
I need to develop a 3D structure as attached figure. Some times I want to change its thickness and radius of the curvature part.
You can combine a sphere and cuboid (or a cylinder and a cuboid, since I can't know how your 3-dimensional structure is supposed to look like... ;-). As long as they consist of the same material they can overlap without consequences. If you do not want to penetrate the sphere (or the cylinder) into the cuboid you can give the cuboid the lower "mesh order".
You can design the above model by using Cuboid and Cylinder. By overlapping Cylinder on a cuboid you get the desired design. To analyze this structure, you can use Confromal FDTD which saves your time time and give food results( if same material used for both.) Prior care has to be taken to over come overlapping problems.
You can try the "Custom" or "Surface" under the Structure Option. Notice the mesh order.
Yes you can. Order of the mesh is quite important when you go for custom.
