There are some aquatic animals which to eat microscopic natural food inside the aqutic habitats filter them either with the help of cilia or other methods. So, if the microscopic-sized food is filtered by cilia then is it called filter-feeder or ciliary-feeder? If so, what about whale which also filters the diatoms.
Such animals are suspension feeders, which can be categorized as two types: active (bivalves, sea squirts, bryozoans, whales, etc.) and passive (sea anemones, hydroids, some polychaetes, etc.). The method that active suspension feeders trap food would form another level and separate ciliary feeders (i.e., bivalves) from baleen (i.e., whales) feeders.
