Small scale fish farmers, to generate some income for their livelihood, construct freshwater fish ponds for cultivating freshwater fishes but then, due to lack of proper technical knowhow, such ponds may leak from the bottom or sides so that the level of water cannot be maintained for culture. In case, if water supply for such ponds, again and again, is not feasible and cost-effective then the farmers, instead of getting benefit will go in loss. So, what can be done in such circumstances to help improve freshwater fish ponds of small scale fish farmers?
In such cases, pond bottom has to be sealed by repeated ploughing then after addition of cow dung in minimal ratios can reduce the seepage.

They will need to drain the water from the pond, then put a layer of clay soil. This can seal the leak. Or, they need to use pond liners. So, basically, drain the pond, put a pond liner, and put a layer of soil on top of the pond-liner. I am sure this will stop the leaks. Good luck.
The vaporation and seepage of the pond play a vital role so far as water loss , therefore such case shoud be taken into account for the pond management.
