In rearing of phytoselius persimilis i came across a black beetle like insect that feeds on red spider mites (T. urticae) that i use to feed the P. persimilis... How can i control the beetle can somebody give me the identity of the beetle.
I suggest to establish new culture; the mite and the predatory mite in order to getred of the beetle.
A small black beetle attacking spider mites could be a coccinelid in the genus Stethorus. In my experience, Stethorus is challenging to rear in captivity, so you might be on to something useful! Is your spider mite culture open to the outdoors, or is it enclosed in an environment chamber? If the former, it may be difficult to control your problem. If the latter, start the culture over again, as suggested. Note that eggs, larvae, and pupae will all be on the leaves (if it is Stethorus).

Thanks a a lot Bruce, my spider mite culture is enclosed. Is there any chemical that has a selective action on the beetle alone.
I am not qualified to offer pesticide advice. I would get a positive ID on the beetle first. You may have discovered a biological control agent for greenhouses, though.
