You can write the data to text file using the following commands:

open(105,file='D:\Ranjith\My_work\tt.txt',position='append')

WRITE(105,*)Z, E1

close(105)

*************************************************************

The above lines are self explanatory :-) I'm writing two variable Z and E1 to the text file tt.txt.

Hi Ali,

I usually do that in Abaqus viewer during post processing, via Python script. Before running my model, I specify I want it to save the Sate Variables (SDV's) and the I read them and export them to a txt. file.

Here's the code I use to export Mises Stress, Triaxiality and some state variables from a particular Integration point of a particular element in the region o interest in my model (frame-by-frame in the load-step):

for frame in frames:

# getting frame ID and time at this frame

frameID = frame.frameId

time = frame.frameValue

# getting quantities at the integration point closest to the origin:

# Stresses = frame.fieldOutputs['Snodal'].getSubset(region=neckCenter)

# ... Stresses:

Stresses = frame.fieldOutputs['S'].getSubset(region=e0)

q = Stresses.values[indSecPoint-1].mises

p = Stresses.values[indSecPoint-1].press

if q==0:

triax = 0.0

else:

triax = -p/q

# ... State variables:

# ...... Matrix material eqiv. plastic strain:

State1 = frame.fieldOutputs['SDV1'].getSubset(region=e0)

PEmatrix = State1.values[indSecPoint-1].data

# ...... Void Ratio:

State2 = frame.fieldOutputs['SDV2'].getSubset(region=e0)

voidRatio = State2.values[indSecPoint-1].data

# getting diameter reduction at neck

NeckDisp = frame.fieldOutputs['U'].getSubset(region=neckDiam)

but it is not showing results

WRITE(105,*)x,dist

close(105)

So for you it should be :

open(105,file='D:\tt.txt',position='append')

WRITE(105,*) (STRESS(i),i=1,NDI)

close(105)

Try and tell me if it worked.

Guys, Thanks for your information. I also want to know how I can write the output just for centroid of each element. That command writes it for all the integration points.
