Hi all. I am an amateur in statistics. I have vaccine wastage data from 31 health facilities...vaccine wastage rate is measured in %.i have the average wastage rates of oral vaccines as 20% and that of injectable vaccines as 56%...my hypothesis is that injectable vaccines have higher wastage compared to oral vaccines...How can i use a chi square to show this difference statistically. I have seen published articles where they compare the two and report say 56%vs 20%:X^2 = 32.4 p= 0.002 df=1..

Thanx...its a good article....However am looking at how to do it in stata... I have seen published articles using chi square for the same.
I know it works in R packages. Hope there may be some options you may have to choose to calculate proportions in STATA as well. Finally, you will get the same results whether you use the frequency counts or proportion.
