I am working on the gene expression in suspended CHO cells, but these cells are not efficiently transfected with freestyle Max reagent, the transfection rate is lower than 50%. How can I improve it?

I would suggest you trying an alternative: Hype-5 transfection reagent.
This reagent was specifically designed for bio-production and for maximum recombinant protein expression in HEK293 and CHO cells growing in suspension. I am pretty sure it would be a good solution for your system.

if you want express protein transiently, use 293 as the host. it is easy to ransfect.
if you want make stable cell line, eletro-transfect CHO should be done.
or you have to optimize the cell density, the ratio between DNA and the reagent
TRansIt-Pro transfection kit gave10 time more expression than the reported value. ViaFect transfection reagent (Promega) is new and efficient as well.
