Hello!

I am planning to collect mosquitoes and ticks in the field and store them for (future) extraction and metagenomic analysis (entire DNA/RNA content) with Nanopore sequencing. Due to constraints and biosafety considerations, I am collecting them in 70% ethanol before bringing them into the lab for identification. Since the field is very close to the lab, do you think the samples will be ok if I dry them (within a few hours from collection) and store them at -70/80 degrees (without any preservative)? If you have experience with this, please let me know. Very appreciated!
