How can I remove mucilage during extraction of DNA?

Dear fellow researchers,

I am facing a problem with DNA extraction in mushroom. Lately, I have been working with a mushroom sample (Unidentified). I am trying to extract DNA and I have been facing a problem with the mucilagenous content during the initial step. If anyone of you have faced the same and has overcome it with any methods, please share your method.
