I've carried out hot injection method to synthesis Sn based halide perovskite nanoparticles. During synthesis, I used 1-octadecene as a solvent, oleic acid, and oleylamine as organic ligands. After reaction I poured n-hexane to precipitate nanoparticles. Then centrifuged and decanted solvent. After that I tried to dry solvents at 80 C.
but a little of 1-octadecene remained which is hard to remove.
Would you please suggest me alternative techniques so that I can wash nanoparticles to get dried nanoparticles?
Octadecene+oleic acid/oleil amine is a classical composition for the production of NPs coated with hydrophobic ligands. Octadecene should be removed after washing (one of my student used 2 times washing with 1/4 V/V cyclohexane/ethanol). But removing the surfactants is more complex and the best approach will depend on what you want to do with the NPs afterwards

thanks for posting this very interesting technical question. As an aliphatic hydrocarbon, 1-octadecene should be readily soluble in other hydrocarbons. Thus I would suggest to use low-boiling n-pentane to wash away residual 1-octadecene.
