LAH is probably out of the question so maybe H2/Pd could work. But the nitrile would be stabilized due to resonance from the aromatic ring so I do not know if this will work. Of course, we could protect the OH group but we wanted to avoid additional steps.

Catalytic hydrogenation should work. For several examples with the conditions used and the yields obtained, see the review by Lu et al. (2021). J. of Catalysis 404 (2021), 475-492 "Recent advances in selective catalytic hydrogenation of nitriles to primary amines". Results for the hydrogenation of nitriles containing hydroxyl groups can be seen on page 486, Scheme 5 of the review cited above.
