I was planning on researching parthenogenesis in crested geckos using DNA samples from breeders and equipment from my university's lab. However, I graduated in May with a BS in general biology and am not yet enrolled in a master's or PhD program, and the pandemic has left me unmoored. Is there a non-professional-available way to store animal tissues for genetic analysis indefinitely, or at least for a few months?

Well, as already answered, in deep freeze, specifically at -20°C. If available for you, store in ethanol p.a. for long preserve DNA. Best regards.
I agree that frozen is best but if you only want dna at a later date then dried is possible
For short storage -20 to -30 freezing is ok but for long maintenance -80 freezing suggested.
