I want to fabricate a DSSC and in that as medium to exchange the charge between the electrodes I want to use I3-/I- solution as electrolyte, but I cannot find the exact method to prepare the solution. So can anyone suggest how to prepare that solution?
The iodide solution is prepared by dissolving 0.127 g Iodine (I2) in 10 mL of ethylene glycol to which 0.83 g Potassium Iodide (KI)is added , stirred and stored in a dark container. The triiodide is obtained by dissolving 525 mg KI and 336 mg I2 into 21 ml glass‐distilled H2O (100ml) to which 73.5 ml glacial acetic acid is added and stirred with a magnetic stirrer for 15 minutes to get dark‐brown colored solution.

The triiodide/iodide is the redox couple you are planning to use in your electrolyte. Apart from the redox couple an electrolyte is further composed of solvent and additives. The performance and stability of your cell will depend on what kind of electrolyte recipe you are planning to use in your cell. You can easily access the procedure in literature. Typically for cells to perform higher, the concentration and the components I am working with is 0.6M BMII, 0.03M Iodine, LiI (0.1M), TBP(0.5M) in Acetonitrile and valeronitrile in volume ratio (85:15)

The process given by other researcher is good. Regarding additives (which are required for DSC application), you can add TBP, other lithium salt) you can add during the preparation which help to enhance Voc and reduction in dark current.
I know it's difficult to find in articles the right amount of I2 and KI, but you can try this proportion below, and it's the one that I used:
0.127 g Iodine (I2) + 0.83 g Potassium Iodide (KI)
Then add 10 mL of ethylene glycol

And to be sure if you obtain an electrolyte (it should be conductive), try to calculate its conductivity by diluting the iodide solution in water (1:10).
