Usually ammonium sulfate is used to precipitate proteins. Likewise can we precipitate amino acids and peptides using ammonium sulfate or any other means?
Amino acids, peptides/proteins in liquid means just make your liquid to acidic means reduce pH or by adding little TFA and then you just makes the system cool,if possible means concentrate the volume to half by using rotavacuumevaporator, then you add excess of cold Diethylether or petroliumether, now you can get clear precipitate of all type of amino acids/peptides/proteins , just centrifuge it and analyze.
This is simple method to precipitate, if your liquid system already in acidic condition means directly you can able to get precipitate.,
Hope you clear.,

each amino-acid, peptide, or protein have an iso-electric point. The idea is to reach such point so that the total charge on the molecule is at its lowest, preferably zero. That can be done by concentrating the solvent, cool with ice-bath and adjust pH to isoelectric point (often but not always at around 6.5 to 7). You may add a low polarity solvent if it does not chalenge the procedure. Precipitation will then occur at its best. Good luck.
