I want to react alloy tributyl tin with berberine the reported reaction is at 100 degree C in dichloromethane. Which reaction vessel should be used that can bear the pressure? Is there any conventional glassware?
Using conventional glassware, the reaction of DCM at 100 C is not possible given its boiling point is ~ 40 C. So for a reaction above the boiling point of solvent used in it, use of stainless steel auotclave is recommended. Please check the literature about the use of stainless steel autoclave for DCM at 100 C. Since the Boiling Point of DCM is very low and the reaction temp is more than twice of Boiling Point so the rise in pressure at 100 C would be very high. So proper study of literature is recommended before starting of reaction.
