I did an experiment on HeLa cells about DAPI and α-Actin Staining. Under the microscope I got these images. What can be said about the cell cycle stage of the cells? What other qualifications can be also stated?
I'm not really certain you can make any conclusions about the cell cycle from these images. Tubulin would be a better antibody to use to determine what part of the cell cycle these cells are in, due to microtubule spindle formation. For your fluorescent microscopy, are you using a confocal microscope?
Yes I used confocal microscope. I am wondering if I can say that the cells on the bottom left hand side are in metaphase and on the top right hand side are in interphase?
I would say so. Nice chromosomes along the metaphase plate on the bottom left. For the top right it seems to be an interphase as we see chromatin. I am surprised with your actin labelling, especially on the top right. But you were not focused on the basal membrane right ? On the equatorial plane ?
