I have synthesized graphene oxide by modified hummers method, then I functionalized them with hydrophobic functional groups, after probe ultrasonication for 10 minutes GO dispersed in liquid paraffin homogeneously but the stability was poor and sedimentation occurred after 4-5 hrs.
Do not know but I can imagine that ball milling produces better results. Alternatively you may try to disperse them first by sonication in ethanol or a similar volatile solvent, then mix with paraffin oil, evaporate the ethanol, re-sonicate.
i dispersed them in tetrahydrofuran first followed by adding parafiin oil, then i evaporated THF and re-sonicated but it wasnt so useful
You probably need some polymer to make your suspension stable. There is a force called hydrophobic interaction which makes aggregate particles
which kind of polymer do you suggest? can you please suggest me a related paper?
