In a special analysis I need to use an .inp file for abaqus documentation.
In addition to that you can import inp file by this way.
Go to file
import..model
pop up file filter select inp file..then ok.
Yourinp file will be imported in abaqus.
You can run inp file by following way:
Open abaqus
go to Analysis..create job...
in source option ..give the path of your input file.
then submit for the analysis..then
After finishing the simulation.....go to results..then go to Output database
select ODB file which generated during ur simulation.
In addition to that you can import inp file by this way.

Thank you both mr atrian and my dear depaak...but this file is in abaqus documentation and in an example said that use this .inp file.

You can save your input file in .inp form.
and then go to :file/import/model
and then select saved .inp file.
Copy the example lines in a text file, and then change its format to '.inp"
try to create a simple dummy model and write its input file then copy the example from the online abaqus help and paste it in the dummy file then try to run

You can run the .inp file in the abaqus commond. abaqus job=**(the name of inp file,without ".inp")
Alternatively, in CAE, you can create a Job and in the "Source option", select the appropriate input file and run to obtain/visualize the results.

You can go to File>import>model and then select as a file filter Abaqus input file (*.inp, *.pes) and click OK. When the submitted job is completed, you can see the correspondig *odb file to view results.
hello everyone, how can i import a model with more than one imp files?
i tried import with pes file however there was an error:
TyperError: unsupported operand type(s) for -: 'str' and 'float' This occurred while performing an initial scan of the input file.
does anyone know the solution? thanks in advance.

File - Import - Model = pick up .inp file. Edit name if you want.
Then directly go to Job - Job manager - Create - name it - continue - Submit
After you see status as Complete, click Results
*inp files in the documentation are usually could not be imported directly into the Abaqus through the File>Import path. Instead of that, you can open the new file and go to the job module in which you should run the *.inp file instead of creating a new job.
Actually, you could not see the results from *.inp file. *.inpis one step before running and solving procedure.
