I'm trying to get anhydrous formamide for dissolving inorganic salts(LiH, NaNH2) in the glove box, but it is hard to find commercial anhydrous formamide.

Thus I'm looking for how to drying formamide but there are only one article about drying formamide using molecular sieve & ion exchange resin.

(Article The purification of formamide, and the rate of its reaction ...

)

But it seems still insufficient water content (0.01M = 180ppm) for handling in glove box.

The most dry one I've found is Hydranal TM formamide dry from Honeywell which contains 0.007% of water according to their CoA. However, I'm not sure this amount of water content (0.007% = 70ppm) is suitable to use this in the glove box.

Does anyone can provide the way to get anhydrous formamide? I'm not sure about general distillation process can be applied for this.

or is the product above suitable for application? Thanks in advance.
