I need to import the elasticity modulus of nickel-titanium depends on temperature in ABAQUS material part. There is not any sources even in ASM book! How can I do that?
Experimental investigations have already been performed and published on Nitinol. You will find the curves for the elastic modulus as a function of the temperature page 153 of the attached file below. I hope the temperature range corresponds to your needs.
For all materials (not only for SMA): Young's modulus of elasticity is a material property which depends on the nature of bonds and binding energy (i.e. atomic bonding strength). Greater the bonding strength greater is the stiffness of the material (Young's modulus of Elasticity). As, we know that with the increase in temperature, the bonding strength decreases. Generally Young's modulus decreases with the decrease in temperature upto the melting point. Extra: High melting point materials have high Young's modulus.
