I am working with size distributions of nanoparticles. But I also need to show my results as a function of area (#NP/area). Does anybody know how calculate the area of a TEM micrograph?
If you have a scale bar, then simply measure the length of the scale bar lb in pixel (px), the length of the image li in pixel and note the scalebar legend f in (n)m
The area will be:
li^2 /lb^2 * f^2 (in units of f^2)
If you are not sure if the scalebar is correct you can use reference sample for calibration.
Hi Ari, just is necessary identify the number of pixels of the image, and the scale bar corresponding, you can use ImageJ or any other image analysis software.
