How can I extract proteins from mouse whole eye?

As you know whole eye is a harder/more solid tissue, and we only have micro tissue homogenizer in our lab (with polypropylene pestles) Is it possible to homogenize mouse whole eye with it?

Hi, an easy way is to freeze it in liquid Nitrogen (best is to freeze-dry it) in a plastic bag, then first use a hammer and later mortar and pestle. Always add liquid nitrogen to Keep the sample frozen.
