I want to use the Ethylene glycol (EG) as my solvent, but PVP seems to be more soluble in H2O and EtOH. Do I need to dissolve PVP into EtOH, then transfer into the EG solvent ?
After the experiment, I have to remove PVP. I know that PVP can be removed by EtOH and H2O, but it seems like not wash very clean. What can I do?

Since PVP has both hydrophilic & lipophilic groups, then it can dissolve in many solvents. Besides water & ethanol, it dissolves in chloroform, dichloroethylene, nitrogen methyl pyrrolidone "NMP", dimethylformamide "DMF" and dimethyl acetamide "DMAC".
Please try the chlorinated hydrocabons first for removing PVP since CHCl3 is considered to be slightly polar while trans-1,2-dichloroethylene is nearly non-polar.
I am afraid that the residue of PVP will have impact on my subsequent experiment. Thanks Nizar Matar .

PVP is soluble in water and polar solvents. For example, it is soluble in various alcohols, such as methanol and ethanol. Also, the chlorinated solvents can largely eliminate the PVP.
