Even in some high impact journals,
there are articles in which
- there is no description that a variable is a latent (unobserved) one,
- the researcher(s) do(es) not report the statistical method and findings appropriately, and
- the graphical diagrams are not according to widely used recommendations (rectangles for measured and circles/ovals for unobserved variables).
Is there any method to know if
- one or more variables are latent (unobserved) variables
- full SEM (measurement model + structural model) analysis was done instead of path analysis only?
