I would like to create periodic texture structure on flexible substrates like Polyimide (PI), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for multiple reflections of light. Can anyone suggest, how can I create it?
Could you let us know what is the period of structure you want to create on the flexible substrates? For optical applications, period around 200 nm ~ 1 um should be good. I suggest to use laser interference lithography technique, which I am focusing on right now.
i dont have any alternative methods in mind other than lithography to get periodic pattern on flexible substrate. We do have the ability to make such samples if you need. Good luck.
There is a technology of multiple melt stream splitting before finally entering the extrusion die to make a multi micro layered film that has effect s in light diffraction. Polymers and additives( nano clays in particular) in the layers of the coextrusion prior to entering the feedblock die with layer splitters will affect results significantly. The technology was initially pioneered by Dow Chemical, I think patents have expired and other companies are offering dies for micro layering.
