In the presence of excess of dialkyl amine, can I expect an equilibrium between the ammonium chloride (alkylated) and corresponding amine? How do I separate the expected dialkyl amine?
I don't know if I understood well your question but the answer seems quite simple to me. Just treat the dialkyl ammonium chloride with a strong base such as NaOH. You will deprotonate quantitatively the amine. Then you could extract it in an organic solvent such as dichloromethane.
