I need to oxidize Fe2+ ions to Fe3+ ions in aqueous medium at pH 7. Is there an oxidizing agent that I can use for this without affecting Cu2+ ions? Can hydrogen peroxide be used?
What is the product of Cu2+ oxidation? Check the standard reduction potentials and pKa of Fe3+(aq). After that, do your own home work. "Can hydrogen peroxide be used?" Google will help to answer. I downvoted your question.
Thank you for your response and directing me towards an answer to my question. Of course I had tried to find the answer and posted my question on research gate so that I can get information and feed back in case I am missing some important points. Chemistry is not my major but I do not see that as reason to keep myself from seeking answers.
