depends on the Program you are using - normally ther is an option - export to 3d file - and ther you can select stl. take care that you are using the right units!

You can try to find on web "Format convertor". Or try to find on Google something like "imaris 3D to STL"

If you don't have the direct option for saving .STL you can save as an intermediate file like a .STEP, .IGES, or .IGS. Then you can open the intermediate file in a cad software from which you can save it as .STL.

I tried to export it as vrml and change it to wrl manually, then using blender to convert it to stl. However I cannot see anything in blender when I import the file and neither in  Cura even if I export it as stl

There is a lot of tutorial on youtube to generate flv from different input format.

But I don't know if it's compatible with your input format

Maybe this question was already solved somewhere else , but I found a way quite easy that might be useful for someone.

1) In Imaris, create a Surface object (if the threshold is quite high, you can include most of the information that is in the Volume object.

2) Select the object. Surpass --> Export selected objects --> Save as .vrml

3) Manually, change extension to .wrl

Now should be suitable for MeshLab and there you can save it as .stl.
