I have seven homogeneous agar gel phantoms with different concentrations. When I want to see their HU values, I use Siemens CT scanner with 120 kV and 2 mm slice thickness for the all measurements. I use ImageJ for analysis.

I recognized that the results for the different scans are different from each other. For example, HU values were 6, 7, 8 and 11 for 1.5%, 2%, 2.5% and 3% agar gels respectively but I have obtained 0, 3, 4, 6 values with higher std with the new scan. I know that tube current (mA) difference shouldn't effect the HU values. In these two scans, tube currents were different and AEC was on.

What is the reason for this difference? If we want to see the reproducible of the gel phantoms which way should I follow?
