Dear Sir, a paper name "uncertainty in developing supervisory demand-side controls in buildings: a framework and guidance" may help you. And my paper :uncertainty analysis of chiller sequencing control" has shown the detailed steps for the specific topic, if your research is narrowed on a control problem, you can follow the steps.
There is also standard ISO/TS 14253-2 with many examples. You can look into NPL good-practice guides maybe You find some documents of Your field.
