Thanks for your info.  However, the challenge is that i already have paraffin sections of the lungs and now want to try beta gal on these. Do you have any modified protocol that i can apply on paraffin embedded tissue sections?

I have a question that what kind of tissue have you done with IHC by using anti-betagalactosidase antibody? This method has been included in your published articles? If it is, can i have the link?

I am thinking about is it possible to detect senescence in the paraffin embedded tissue sections. It would be really nice and more capable if we can use antibody as an alternative in our situation.

the most suitable senescence marker stain for paraffin section is the detection of lipofuscin granules using Sudan black B stain (SBB)  for different tissues 

Hi Rim, I was looking around to see whether I could do beta-gal activity assay on FFPE samples. Unfortunately, it doesn't work! However, as Amr pointed out, SSB staining has been shown to colocalize with beta-gal positive cells and I'm planning to try it out. You may find the details in the publication attached herewith. Did you manage to get Beta-Gal to work on Tissue sections? If yes can you please share the protocol?

Can we just do Sudan black stain on FFPE (In Aging 2017 paper)? There are papers demonstrate this method works for prostate cancer and lung cancer. It can also co-stain with H&E.
