If you knoe reynolds and prandtle number then using a correlation you can calculate nusselt number. But why you need to use to calculate nusselt number in ansys fluent. In fluid flow simulation you can generate velocity profile, using this you can calculate reynolds number as like this other values you can calaulate. But only nusselt number then why ansys fluent?
Thank you for your replay. I simulate internal flow inside pipe and try to validate it with Dittus-Boelter equation, But the values of Nu from Fluent was't accurate. So, i'm searching about direct method in Ansys- Fluent to get Nu.
yes u can get nu no directly after simulating your problem ,after simulation go in results section where u can set your own formula on basis of your data i mean u have reynolds no and prandle no. then fixed the formula for nu no and you will gate automaticaly Nu no graph
Dear Amr Kaood, If wants to validate your results better take published experimental or theoretical data then do the simulation and compare both. And then same simulation procedure use for your own problem. I think in this way we can find accurate or any error present in ansys simulation. I hope u undestand. Thank you
In order to calculate the average Nusselt number use the formulation
Nu = hL/k.
Where h is Surface heat transfer coefficient obtained again from Contours of Wall fluxes. ( surface integral --> wall flux (Area-weighted average) -> heat transfer coefficient )
I am currently working in force convection heat transfer through pipe with nanofluid by using mixture model two phase flow. I am getting the fluidflow result correctly (like average wall shear stress, velocity magnitude etc). BUT I AM GETTING HEAT TRANSFER VALUE (LIKE NUSELT NUMBER) OVER PREDICTED. What could be the reason for that?
