I'm working on encapsulation of insecticide in chitosan NPs as a carrier and used water as a release medium for larval bioassay for 24 hrs but the efficiency is lower than the bulk one and the nanoparticles have agood controlled release . how can I approve that this carrier improve the properites on the effieciencyevel l aganist larave?
Ahlam Khalifa Perform the Laboratory bioassay against larvae with following:
1. Water (control)
2. Only nanoparticles (control)
3. insecticide
4. Nanoparticle loaded with insecticide
Treat at least 30 larvae in triplicate with each of the above and monitor the growth of larvae for desired time period. Based on the observations, calculate the % corrected larval mortality for each sample using Abbot's formula and decide which preparation is giving your better results.

As Ahlam Khalifa you tell that; in bulk the control release property of NPs is good.
Now you need to evaluate efficacy of the NPs against larave.
For that, if you want to show good efficacy at small amount of NPs,
- Reduce the NPs size and evaluate it with your previously NPs. Its basic phenomenon is that more small particles, higher surface area is in contact with release medium (water).
- Higher Surface Area (high contact area) is direct proportional to higher drug release from NPs
