I am facing a problem regarding the pretension loading. I need to apply axially uniform pretension load in the fibre prior matrix cure ( composite materials) and then releasing the pretension in the fibre after the matrix has been cured. I am trying the pretension section element but this method is correct if the two parts ( fibre and matrix) are not bonded to each other. I think pretension section is only work for bolted joints due to the non welded parts (non bonded) existence. If I apply the pretension section, the load will distributed non uniformly due to bonding between fibre and matrix after curing. The problem is very similar to prestressed concert simulation.

By using element death deactivate contact surface
Apply pretension load to fiber as displacement or temperature and solve
Activate contact surface
Remove pretension load and solve

If you are applying pretension loading the residual stress will occur. This stress will affect the performance of the material. So please do not follow this method. At the time of applying load you can add the pre-loading value for simulation.
Actually, I want to estimate the residual stresses within the cured matrix after releasing the pretension load in the fibre.
Why u want to eliminate the residual stress. If u r consider the material with in the elastic limit then there is no residual stress. If the analysis crossing the elastic limit then only the material is having residual stress. Please check the analysis with in the elastic limit.

Maybe you could try this:
Import your model, fiber and matrix. In the first step, suppress the matrix. Apply the load to the fiber. This will make it to extend in a elastic deformation (within the limit elastic, as doctor Sathish says). Unsuppress the matrix for the last step and let it recover.
I don't know if this will work. You could also try adding a an offset in the contact options. This will make radial pressure along the fiber.

Thank you Alaaeldin Elsisi for your help. I think you are right. Subsequently, do I need multi loading steps to solve the problem as you suggested or only one step ? and what about the prestress effects, do I need to activate it in the solution control ?

Thank you, definitely you will need multi load step. The prestress effect load like each other loads you will need to apply it in a load step and then remove it later.
There is an option in solution control namely "calculate prestress effect". you can consider it.
