One of the most important issue in a forensic science is age estimation which can be assessed through different skeletal factor and dental marker and among dental issue decreasing size of the pulp due to continuous dentin deposition through out the life can be considered important forensic tool for age estimation, I will ask of application of CBCT to evaluate pulp size from coronal to end of pulp canal in a three dimensional view and correlate it with real age with regards
There are very few reports on the use of CT to determine the pulp/tooth volume ratio of different populations so that a valuable data set is missing for forensic medicine. An extensive review of literature showed that there was only one report on the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) to determine the pulp/tooth volume and correlate it to age.

You can get the volume of the pulp cavity using the Simplant or MImics software. As one ages the pulp cavity shrinks in size.
