If you could be more specific then answers would be more helpful. I assume you have some nanoparticles that contain ions which would rather consume oxidizers than allow iron to oxidize (if, lets say, they are "painted" on an iron surface). If you could produce some hydrofobic paint which has the suspension of your particles, then that could be one solution (you need to make sure the adhesion of nanoparticles to the iron surface is strong)
