Beyond that, graphene synthesis via chemical vapor deposition is a well-studied research field. For example, the queries "CVD" and "Graphene" provide several hundreds of entries in WebOfScience or similar data bases.

For a first overview, let me suggest the review article "The surface science of graphene: Metal interfaces, CVD synthesis, nanoribbons, chemical modifications, and defects" by M. Batzill, Surface Science Reports 67 (2012) 83.

Totally agree with Frank Müller.

Dec. 2014 in Nature Com., a US team showed a very interesting and alternative way to get single layer graphene by laser assisted process, without any furnace ... but  expensive CO2 laser  ...

Best and most economical  way to get graphene is chemical exfoliation check coleman papers "kitchen blender for graphene synthesis" , if you want large area then go to CVD method.

There are many papers on CVD Ruoff's is the first one to get an idea.

Thanks Kranthi Kumar for your answer, and of course everyone here know about exfoliation techniques … Rather, I mentioned this new method because it allows patterning graphene where you want, which is a little more difficult to do from exfoliation I think.
