In the study of maraging steel, usually the there is major species of precipitation, which is believed to provide most of the strength. There are some studies that tried to combine 2 or more precipitation. Now I have a few things that come to my mind.

1. Is it possible to assess the possibility of 2 or more precipitation (different phases) from a one-axis equilibrium phase diagram? (phase diagram showing the fraction of phase and temperature obtained from thermodynamic simulation like thermocalc etc.)

2. If we want to design such alloys, what are the important parameters to consider? is it only the coherency between each precipitate and matrix? what happened if each precipitate has a different orientation relationship with the matrix?

3. Is it possible to determine the coherency between different precipitates, assuming they can co-exist adjacent to each other.
