Can anyone tell me why Jurkat cells are called Jurkat cells? This is really killing me now.

As far as I know, Jurkat cells are a line of T lymphocytes. The cells were first described in a research paper published in 1977 by scientists A. M. Schmitt-Verhulst and A. W. Schmitt. The name 'Jurkat' is derived from the patient's initials, J.U.R. (for 'Jurkat'), and the laboratory code assigned to the cells
