i am cloning some genes form yeast i isolates total RNA which is of good quality now i am using RT PCR using SMART Race but according to manual and my own addition even i am not still able to get any band please any one is here to let me know about my problem i get smear always both in normal and nested PCR
Did you check the annealing temp.. is suitable?? The smear band might come from not suitable temp.. I'm not sure , but you can try..

For the people who want to study in Ph.D. ... i think you can apply for many university in the world. If you want to study in Thailand.. you can search the university on the internet and can apply. For university that i study is Suranaree University of Technology. What is your project that you want to do for Ph.D.?

It may be that you need to do an equivalent bridging course, such as honours or masters, before you can be eligible for a PhD. I dont know anything about your degree thou. Do people with your degree go straight into PhD where you are from? In Australia, you cannot got straight from a Bachelors into a PhD...
I'm from India. Mine is a 4 yr course sir..Bachelor of Technology..ya ppl wit this degree have got direct PhD.. So me trying for a PhD position..
All I mean is that (at least in Australia), you need to have completed an equivalent course to an Honours course, which includes approximately 9 mths research followed by a written thesis, from which only those that get over 80% get offered a scholarship. We had a girl from Mexico come to La Trobe University where I study, and even though she did a 4 yr science degree, she could not apply for PhD and therefore started a masters. However, she did upgrade to a PhD after 1-1.5 yrs anyway, so she'll finish with a PhD degree regardless. Maybe that is another option for you?
Hey Diana, if you are currently doing your masters in research, that I would be fairly confident that you would be eligible for a PhD (obviously dependent on whether you passed). The reason for the honours year here is to give students experience in research, and to produce a thesis, which gives them some insight into the requirements of a PhD. The reason for the mark (80%) is to make sure they are actually capable of undertaking a PhD. Scholarships for international students are available, but I am not quite sure how they work, because they are different to the ones available to residents.
