i would like to know if the SAP genes expression increased in the stationary phase of the Candida albicans growth curve (normally) as many others genes or its constant through the exponential and stationary phases,
I really do not know it, because I never did any experiment and I never read anything in this way. However, Sap genes are differentially expressed considering the growth medium used, temperature, presence of exogenous proteins, and many other conditions.
I would expect that there are changes in SAP expression during growth as the expression also changes in C. albicans planktonic vs biofilm and might change with cell density in culture. In addition there are huge differences in SAP expression among different C. albicans strains.
SAP expression doesn't happen unless the medium has no free amino acids in the medium but presence of protein (ex. BSA). SAP expression would then stay activated until they have generated oligopeptides and free amino acids that the cells can transport inside the cells.
interesting answer Mr Alvarez, do you have a paper mention this fact or if you know any researcher working on this subject....thanks for your help in advance......
