You can prepare this mixture by dissolving 110,98 g (1 mole) anhydrous calcium chloride (desiccated at 105 deg C in a drying oven for several hours) in a liquid solvent consisting of 92.14 g ethanol (2 moles, 116,78 ml) and 144 g demineralized water (8 moles, 144 ml). The calcium chloride may be dissolved in the liquid dissolvent at 20 deg. C or by slightly heating to 40 deg C until complete dissolution of the salt crystals.
