please share a bit more informations about about your set up, your scan parameters as well as about your sample.

Sharing your noisy XRD pattern could also be helpfull for finding a solution to your query...

One idea:

I think you have a quite noisy background. When using a Cu tube you will suffer from Mn fluorescence radiation excited by the Cu K-alpha line of your primary x-ray spectrum.

Using a monochromator set-up at the detector side will help in this case *).

Switching to a Cr based x-ray tube will also work.

A Co tube will not help in the case of a Mn sample.

Filtration by a Cu foil (~20µm in front of the detector) could help a bit...

Your XRD signal (Cu K-alpha) will go down to about 36%, but your Mn fluorescence will go down to about 12%; thus the Mn fluorescence will go down 3 times faster...

A Ni filter of similar thickness will also help...

Difficult to give advice without further information. It could be fluorescence if you use Co-radiation.

Without any detailed information on the subject, it is hard to advise. However, there is a simple way to try to reduce noise: the increase of scanning time. If you measure in angle step mode, increase the time-per-step. 10 seconds per step should help, but it's only my gut feeling. If you measure in continuous scanning mode, slow down the scanning rate.

Please, remember that this is only the way to average out the noise, i.e. curing the symptoms, not the disease. If you really want to get rid of the noise, you must find the source of the noise. This could be anything, starting from the size of the sample (then the time-per-step will be the obvious solution), through the choice of tube, poor EMC protection, to ... anything.
